J. THOMAS MCCARTHY LIBRARY
Named for longtime Mount supporter
J. Thomas McCarthy, the Doheny Campus
library was constructed in 1999 as part of the
Sister Magdalen Coughlin Learning Complex.
Its architecture was carefully designed to blend
with the Victorian mansions of Chester Place.
The original Doheny library was Médaille Hall
at 2 Chester Place, but new technology
and a growing collection of books and library
resources required a new building.
